Privacy

The short version

The diagnostic and practice need an account with a pass, so we hold your email and your answers for that account. Otherwise we only hold your email if you join the waitlist or leave it with a question report, and we count visits without cookies.

What we collect

• Waitlist sign-ups. Your email, where on the site you signed up, your diagnostic score if you signed up from your results, your university if we ask and you choose to give it, whether you ticked the box for prep tips, and any campaign tags in the link you arrived from (for example, that you came from a LinkedIn post).
• Question reports. If you use “Report this question”, the question, the reason you picked, any note you write, and your email only if you choose to give it.
• Visit counts. Which pages are viewed, the site that sent you, your country, browser and type of device, and a few actions, such as starting or finishing the diagnostic, with your score rounded to a band. These counts never include your email or anything you type. If you share your score, the shared link contains it, so visits to that link are counted with that score.
• Your diagnostic answers. These are saved in your browser's local storage so a refresh doesn't lose your work, and saved to your account when you finish, so you can see your result on another device. Clearing your browser data removes the copy in your browser, not the one in your account.

Why we use it

• To tell you when paid practice opens, because you asked us to by joining the waitlist.
• To send you prep tips now and then, only if you ticked that box. To stop them at any time, use the unsubscribe link in any tips email, or email hello@trymoot.com.
• To check and fix questions you report, and to reply to you if you left your email.
• To see which pages and posts bring people in, so we can improve the site.
• To stop abuse: your IP address is used to limit repeat sign-ups and reports. It is kept only in the server's working memory and is never saved with your sign-up. Vercel, which hosts the site, also sees it in its own request logs.

Who processes it for us

• Vercel hosts the website.
• Supabase stores the waitlist and question reports, in a UK or EU data centre.
• Plausible Analytics counts visits. It sets no cookies and does not store raw IP addresses, and its visitor data stays in the EU (see Plausible's data policy).

We do not sell your data or share it with law firms, test publishers or advertisers.

How long we keep it

• Waitlist sign-ups: until you ask us to delete them, or until we close the waitlist. We will set a fixed period here before launch.
• Question reports: until we delete them, or you ask us to. We will set a fixed period here before launch.
• Your prep tips choice: until you ask us to stop.
• Visit counts: kept by Plausible as statistics with no cookies, email or stored IP address attached.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law (UK GDPR) you have the right to:

• be told how your data is used, which is what this page is for;
• get a copy of the data we hold about you;
• have it corrected;
• have it deleted;
• ask us to limit how we use it;
• get it in a format you can take elsewhere;
• object to how we use it;
• not be subject to decisions made only by automated means. We make none.
